British Block Book

Mandy’s brand new book is slightly different from her other books. Inspired by her antique Penny Square Quilts, the British Block Book is a practical book full Great Britishness with over 45 iconic designs inspired by our world famous institutions, our flora and fauna, our idiosyncratic celebrations, our wonderful people and much, much more. It also includes instructions for using the blocks to make your very own Penny Square Quilt, a cushion, a hoopie, a bag and, of course, a Mandy’s signature hanging heart!

Each block is shown in clear black and white and the spiral binding makes it very easy to lay the book flat to trace or copy the blocks of your choice and then keep them all flat, safe and ready to use for years to come. Some of you might recognise the blocks as part of the Penny Quilt Block of the Month but they are now all here for you in one place for all of you to continue your love of redwork. And, of course, you don't have to stick to redwork you can use them to create applique and even to make beautiful and personal handmade cards.

To accompany the book, we have also produced an Iron on Transfer Pattern Pack. It has all the blocks as reusable transfers (which can be used up to 5-6 times depending on the fabric) PLUS an 18"square version of the fabulous British Isles Block to use as a central panel so you can make your very own Penny Quilt without having to enlarge from the book.
